ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

APRIL 16, 2009

7: 00 P.M.    Called the meeting to order.  Present:  Richard Gorden, Ellen Abelson

                     and Mark Mazur.

1. The Board reviewed the bids for a FY2010 Personal Property revaluation                                

contractor.  The Board chose the low bidder G & K Associates for the project.

2. The Board agreed to schedule a meeting with a taxpayer who wants to

discuss the denial of their FY2009 abatement application.

3. The Board discussed the Town’s plan to not utilize the annual 2.5%

increase in the Levy and its impact on Fy2010 tax bills and tax rate.

7:25 P.M.      The Board met with attorney Richard Wulsin who represents the owners

                      of parcel 74-21 for their pending appellate tax board cases.

7:50 P.M.      The meeting with attorney Wulsin ended and the Board went into

                      Executive Session.

8:20 P.M.     The Board returned from their Executive Session and resumed  their regular

                      meeting.

4. The Board reviewed but did not act on two FY2009 clause 18

exemption applications. The Board discussed the possibility of using

clause 18A exemptions instead .  They then directed the Administrative Assessor to investigate the matter.
